The programme mixes seasoned ballroom dancers with famous people from diverse disciplines. Each week, they perform various dance routines and genres in competition with one another. On June 18, 2023, Seven debuted the twenty-season of Australian Dancing with the Stars.

Mark Wilson and Todd McKenney rejoined the judging panel, and Daryl Somers and Sonia Kruger resumed their roles as hosts. Helen Richey and Paul Mercurio were replaced by Craig Revel Horwood and Sharna Burgess, who had both been judges when the show debuted on Network 10.

Todd McKenney:

Todd McKenney is an Australian dancer, theatre artist, and TV personality who was born on May 31, 1965. His most well-known role is as a judge on the Australian talent competition Dancing with the Stars.

McKenney had training in ballroom dancing, jazz, tap, and acrobatics. He competed for Australia in ballroom and Latin American dancing and received numerous International awards.

He has performed in many plays as a stage actor, but his most well-known role is that of singer Peter Allen in the play The Boy from Oz.

McKenney released the album Just a Gigolo in 2005. A duet with Maggie Kirkpatrick comprised the title track. Of the twelve tracks, seven were written by Peter Allen. The Kander and Ebb song “I Don’t Care Too Much,” which was removed from Cabaret, was also included on the CD.

Mark Wilson:

Australian ballroom dancer Mark Wilson was once a dance instructor. He is a well-known television personality, most renowned for serving as one of the original judges on the Seven Network’s reality series Dancing with the Stars for the first ten seasons.

He made a comeback as a judge in 2021, reuniting with original host Daryl Somers and fellow former original judges Paul Mercurio, Todd McKenney, and Helen Richey.

He participated in It Takes Two, an Australian reality TV programme that airs on the Seven Network.

Craig Revel Horwood:

Australian-British novelist, dancer, choreographer, conductor, theatre director, and former drag queen in the UK, Craig Revel Horwood was born on 4 January 1965.

Horwood received an Honorary Doctor of Arts degree from the University of Winchester on July 20, 2021, at Winchester Cathedral.

Horwood is well known for his work as a judge on the hit BBC dance programme Strictly Come Dancing. Until November 13, 2021, when he was unable to participate in the show due to a positive COVID-19 test.

He was the only judge to have participated in every season since the show’s launch. He frequently appears in ballroom and Latin dance routines, such as one in 2019 that had a Hello, Dolly theme.

Sharna Burgess:

Sharna May Burgess is an Australian ballroom dancer who was born on June 21, 1985. She is most known for her work as a professional partner and cast member on the ABC show Dancing with the Stars.

She and her famous partner Bobby Bones are the season 27 winners of the American television competition Dancing with the Stars. Along with Craig Revel Horwood and Tristan MacManus, she has also served as a judge on the Australian edition of the programme from 2019.
