About the Show: Canada’s Ultimate Challenge 2024

Canada’s Ultimate Challenge is a reality competition show where the whole country is used as a big challenge course. Six amazing coaches will help and guide teams of regular Canadians as they try to complete physical and mental challenges that are unique to each spot.

Donovan Bailey, a sprinting legend and two-time Olympic champion, is one of the coaches. Waneek Horn-Miller, a Mohawk water polo Olympian and advocate for Indigenous sports, is another. Clara Hughes, a six-time Olympic medalist in cycling and speed skating, is another.

Gilmore Junio, a three-time Olympic speed skater, Jen Kish, a former captain of Canada’s Olympic rugby sevens team that won a bronze medal, is another.

Each episode will take place at a well-known place in Canada, where the teams will fight in spectacular Solo, Tandem, or Team challenges that will test them physically and mentally.

Over the course of the eight episodes, the top Canadian coaches will make smart decisions and try to get their teams to win. One team will win The Canada’s Ultimate Challenge in the end.

Canada’s Ultimate Challenge 2024 Host:

Nikki Reyes:

  • Nikki Reyes grew up in Markham, Ontario, but she went back to the Philippines, where her family is from, and worked as an actor in telenovelas there. She worked as a reporter, anchor, and director for the NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL, and Hockey Night in Canada after she moved back to North America.
  • During the pandemic, she got a job at TSN, where she became the host of their most popular show, SportsCentre. In the summer of 2022, Nikki quit her job at TSN and joined the team at Canada’s Ultimate Challenge

Craig McMorris:

  • He is a professional snowboarder and one of the most creative riders in the world. In 2019, he won bronze in the X Games Real Snow competition and has produced and starred in some of the most popular snowboard movies in the last ten years.
  • In 2014, he was the snowboard expert for CBC’s coverage of the Sochi Olympics. Since then, he has become the best and most exciting voice for Big Air, Slopestyle, and Halfpipe snowboarding.
  • During the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Craig went out on the streets for CBC to learn about the city’s music, food, dance, soccer, surf and skateboard cultures and share them with Canadians as the host of a series called Rio on the Edge.
  • Craig joined CBC Olympics as the overnight host and snowboard analyst for PyeongChang 2018. This solidified his reputation as one of the most versatile personalities in both action sports and Canadian broadcasting. He also added Tokyo 2021 and Beijing 2022 to his already impressive resume, having covered 5 Olympics.
  • Craig is still the snowboard and skateboard expert for the CBC Olympics while he gets ready for his next big adventure as the host of CBC’s Canada’s Ultimate Challenge, which will take him all over the country.

Canada’s Ultimate Challenge 2024 Coaches:

Donovan Bailey:

  • Donovan Bailey is one of the best sprinters of all time. He was the first Canadian to run the 100 metres in less than 10 seconds. He has won two Olympic gold medals, three world championships, and two records. He is also the only person to be admitted into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame twice.
  • Donovan is now an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a media critic. In 2022, he was made an officer of the Order of Canada.
  • Donovan is excited to bring his many years of teaching experience to Canada’s Ultimate Challenge. “Managing athletes is not something I’ve never done before,” he said. I’m the leader of our relay team, which is the best team in Canadian history. And I had to deal with all of those different people while they all tried to beat me in the 100-meter individual race.”

Waneek Horn-Miller:

He is a Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) Olympian from Kahnawà:ke, which is south of Montreal. He is one of the coaches for six teams that are participating in an obstacle course across Canada.

  • Horn-Miller was the first Kanien’kehá:ka woman to participate in the Olympics. She was the co-captain of Canada’s women’s water polo team, and she did this as the first Kanien’kehá:ka woman to do so.
  • The show is hosted by professional snowboarder Craig McMorris and sportscaster Nikki Reyes. The teams participate in group, tandem, and solo challenges that test their physical and mental abilities at iconic Canadian sites.

Clara Hughes:

  • Clara Hughes is the only person in Olympic history to have won more than one tile in both the summer and winter games. She has won six medals in speed skating and riding at the Olympics.
  • Clara is a supporter for mental health and the first spokesperson for the “Let’s Talk” campaign. She works hard to get rid of stigma and let people know they’re not alone.
  • “Winning is fun, and I won the Olympics,” says Clara. “But I want my team to show Canada what it’s like to support, accept, and nurture, no matter what the result.”

Gilmore Junio:

  • He is well-known for both his sporting skills and his kind act at the Olympics. He gave his spot in the 1000-meter race at the 2014 Winter Olympics to friend Denny Morrison, who missed the qualifying event because he fell. Denny went on to win silver and started a campaign online to get Gilmore chosen to carry the Canadian flag at the Sochi closing ceremonies.
  • Helping Team Orange win on CBC’s new reality show is his latest task. And he always did it in a laid-back way. “We don’t make for great TV,” Coach Gilmore says. “I loved just being a fly on the wall and watching. I’m going to let my opponents fight each other. That’s kind of what I do.”Related Post: The Block Audition  Application, Requiremen

  •  Kish was named the Most Influential Athlete on the CAAWS Most Influential Women List of 2016.

Luke Willson:

  • Luke Willson doesn’t know as much about teaching as he does about competing. But the LaSalle native who used to play in the NFL started a new part of his life when he became a teacher on the new CBC show Canada’s Ultimate Challenge.
