- On October 19, 2016, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) debuted the Australian television cometic quiz show Hard Quiz.
- It is filmed in front of a studio audience at the ABC Melbourne studios in Southbank.
- It is hosted by Tom Gleeson.
- Gleeson was named a contender for the Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television on May 26, 2019.
- Four contestants, each of whom has selected a specialized subject area, compete in each episode of Hard Quiz.
- Each right response earns 5 points, while each incorrect response deducts 5 points.
Hard Quiz 2024 Rounds:
Expert Round:
- Each candidate gets five questions about a different subject related to their area of expertise.
- They must buzz in to answer, and if they answer incorrectly or take too long, they are shut out of the question, allowing the other players a chance to respond.
Tom’s Round:
- The competitors provide their responses to each of the five multiple-choice questions from a topic Gleeson has predetermined using their monitors. The red buzzer must be pressed to lock in a chosen response.
- With the exception of the final question, which has six alternatives and is played for double points (10 points for a correct response), each question has four possible answers.
- The words “Too Soft” are now displayed on the podium of the player who received the lowest score at the conclusion of this round.

The People’s Round (Against the Clock):
- Depending on the episode, general knowledge questions are provided in this round with a relatively ambiguous time limit (between 35 and over 90 seconds).
- Once more, the competitors buzz in to speak. When time runs out, the player with the lowest score is likewise eliminated.
Tiebreaker: Hard-Off:
- A “hard-off” is used to break ties when there is a tie for the lowest score and an elimination is necessary.
- In this scenario, Gleeson provides two options for a given question, and the first participant to buzz in then choose one of the two options.
Final round: Hard Quiz 2024
- The winner receives a trophy, the limited-edition big brass mug, or in the case of the “Battle of The Duds” episodes, the aforementioned big brass mug with a hole in the bottom.
- The final two contestants alternate answering questions about their chosen subject area in a best of five penalty shootout format.

The Last Season of the Hard Quiz Season 9 premiered in the month of August 2023. Expected the Hard Quiz Application 2024 Season 10 will be premiered in the same manner.

Hard Quiz Australia 2024 Entry Criteria:
Before applying for the new season of the Hard Quiz Australia 2024.
- At the time of application, all participants were at least 18 years old.
- Participants must provide proof of nationality and proof of address.
- If you require a different format for the application form or if you have any general inquiries.
- Both intellectually and physically powerful.
- No criminal history.

Hard Quiz 2024 Host:
- Australian stand-up comedian Thomas Francis Gleeson was born on June 2, 1974. He is also a writer and a presenter for radio and television.
- Gleeson presently hosts Hard Quiz and Taskmaster Australia, and he previously co-hosted The Weekly with Charlie Pickering and Judith Lucy.
- The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Brisbane Comedy Festival, Perth Fringe World, Edinburgh Fringe, and Montreal Comedy Festival were among the notable comedy festivals where he later appeared.
- In 2019, he won Best Comedy at Perth Fringe World for his stand-up performance Joy. At the Adelaide Fringe, his stand-up performance Lighten Up (2020) took home the Best Comedy award.
- For the Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performer, Gleeson has had three stand-up performances nominated: Tom On! in 2007, Up Himself in 2011, and Quality in 2014.
