Western Illinois University (WIU) offers a number of scholarships for international students who wish to pursue their undergraduate or graduate studies at the university. Here are some of the scholarships available for the 2023 academic year:
- Presidential Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen with outstanding academic achievements and standardized test scores. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, room, and board for up to four years. The scholarship is valued at $64,000.
- Centennial Honors Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to incoming freshmen who are admitted to the Centennial Honors College at WIU. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, room, and board for up to four years. The scholarship is valued at $32,000.
- International Commitment Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to international undergraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements. The scholarship covers partial tuition for up to four years. The scholarship is valued at $3,000 per year.
- Graduate International Tuition Waiver: This scholarship is awarded to international graduate students who have been admitted to a master’s or doctoral program at WIU. The scholarship covers partial tuition for up to two years.

- The scholarships are merit-based, which means they are awarded based on academic achievements, test scores, leadership qualities, community involvement, and other factors that demonstrate your potential to succeed at WIU.
- The scholarships are renewable for up to four years, depending on your academic performance and continued enrollment at WIU.

HOW TO APPLY!
To be considered for these scholarships, you must submit your application for admission to WIU by the priority deadline of December 1st. You will also need to complete additional scholarship applications and meet the eligibility criteria for each scholarship.
